Hello!

It's been forever since I've written on here and so much has happened! Ok, not really, but that is better than saying nothing of great importance has gone on in my little world.

I keep forgetting it is Christmas time. I mean I see all the commercials and Christmas specials on TV (anyone know when A Very Brady Christmas is on this year?), but then I look out of my window and see palm trees and no snow. Growing up in Wisconsin and after living in places that get snow - or at least gets cold enough to know it's Christmas time, it's strange that it's sunny and 82 degrees on December 9th.

Hunter and I put up all of our Christmas decorations the other day, so our home looks nice and bright! I bought a Yankee Candle too that smells like Christmas too! Deeelish!

I'm going up to Wisconsin to spend the holiday with my family, so when I get there, that is when I will officially call it the Christmas Season!

MADONNA DAY!

I am so excited to see the Sticky & Sweet Tour again! My super cool boss Bob gave me a pair of tickets yesterday!!!! WOOO HOOOO! It's at Dolphin Stadium - which I have never been to before. I've only been to one other outdoor stadium concert - it was in Atlanta and I saw No Doubt open up for the Rolling Stones at Turner Field. It's going to be soooo amazing! When I saw her in NYC, I was disappointed with her show. It was 3 days before she announced her divorce, so that may have been why I thought she totally phoned it in. My friends saw her shows in LA and ATL and said she was GREAT, so I'm hoping that this restores my confidence in her fabulousness. Not that I had a doubt, but I was a little disappointed.

So here I sit....waiting and watching the clock until I get to leave and see my IDOL!

HURRY UP 7 O'CLOCK!!!!

Reaching out.....

Dear Madonna,

I just wanted to extend and invitation to you and whomever you'd like to bring (dancers, Oakenfold, Lola, Rocco, David, A-Rod, etc. etc) to come over for Thanksgiving.
I know you have numerous homes, 1 being in Miama (THE CITY THAT I AM GOING TO SEE YOU IN DOING STICKY & SWEET), but thought, hmmm, the place might be dusty....cold....uninviting after being out of the country and on tour all over the place. So, I just wanted to see if you wanted to come and have ham and chicken (my son Hunter won't eat Turkey) with us. If you would like to bring something, please do not bring the cranberries in a can....the ridges creep me out.

Call me and let me know. You've got my number.

Love,

Tracy

It's Monday...

Nothing too exciting to report today.....but if you saw these 2 out cruising around Palm Beach in pink wigs and fur coats yesterday, you were lucky....

Big Weekend Planned!

Hunter and I get to light the HUGE 40 ft Christmas Tree at City Place on Saturday! Think Rockefeller Center Tree Lighting, just on a slightly smaller scale! It's going to snow, there will be choirs, and orchestra, a big countdown and all kinds of fun! But yes, it's going to SNOW in West Palm Beach! I can't wait to see that! Hunter is going to be so excited and will immediately start talking about 4 wheeling in the snow in Wisconsin until we get there next month!

So before the big festivities begin, I'm getting my hair did at Anushka Salon, my makeup done at Sephora and am wearing an awesome dress from Rhythm! I'm thinking of a sweet Kim Kardashian style. I love her hair...possibly the best hair in LA.

Then on Sunday, we are going to the skate park so I can video H doing tricks! Courtney (Hunter's fabu sitter) thinks I have something on this laptop that can help me edit video and stuff!

Eh....

I have nothing I can speak nicely about today, so I will keep my feelings to myself.

I can speak nicely of Hunter though - he is the greatest kid in the world!

Not so much a Rachel Ray moment.....

I had to work yesterday and stopped by Dunkin Donuts for my coffee (extra cream, extra sugar) and plain bagel with sausage, egg and cheese. Well, while I was digging through my purse, one of the zillion homeless - and aggressive - people that live around the DD, asked me for money. I didn't have any cash and told her I'm sorry, I'm using my credit card. So she proceeded to lift her shirt and show me that she had a mastectomy....yes, she showed me her scar while repeating loudly over and over - "I have one breast". I had to look twice to ensure myself that a smoking, homeless person, begging for money was indeed flashing me infront of the sign displaying happy, peaceful donuts.....

It's Friday!

And it's a gorgeous day here in South Florida! Sunny, breezy, warm. I was suprised last night while I was watching ER that one of their scenes (with Dr. Meany and her husband) they were walking in snow flurries! When you live in year round summer, you kinda forget what time of year it is in the real world!

Hunter and I will have lived here for 2 years in January and have totally adapted to the NO WINTER ALLOWED-ness of the state! We'll jet ski in December, swim in February, go boogey boarding in March! I know my Wisconsin Fan Base (yes, both of you) are green with envy! And you know there is an open invitation for anyone to come and visit!

However, I can't WAIT to go up to Wisconsin for Christmas! Snowmobiling, 4 Wheeling, Snow boarding, Skiing, etc etc!!! I like the cold for 1 week per year, then get me back to my Florida!

Impatient Designers

Cami's Cafe

This is what Cami and I spend our morning creating.

Due to this being a picture from my phone, you can't see that off to the left is the lovely Atlantic Ocean....that's the one on Florida's right, correct?
.

This is where we have our morning coffee and gossip about stuff that is not important. If you would like to discuss politics, receipe swapping, state of the economy, PTA meetings, or anything else that would make us slip into a coma - not booze induced - we would like it if you wouldn't come. This is a space dedicated all things frivilous. Wanna talk Britney, Brad/Ang, Shoes, or the hottness of George Clooney? Bring it.
.
Cami and I want to do our own design show. It would be called the Impatient Designers. For people who just can't wait to get it done. We were supposed to wait 24 hours to put that fabric up on the walls....we couldn't even wait 24 minutes. Let's hope it doesn't fall on our of our guests.

I VOTED TODAY!

But I'm going to exercise my American right to privacy
and keep my vote private.

....now where is my free Starbucks and Krispy Kreme donut?

It just takes champagne!

...quite a bit of champagne! My friend Cami and I had our own little HGTV moment yesterday! We live in a high rise with the most amazing view of the intercostal and ocean, yet our seating arrangement on our balconies just wasn't cutting it. So after numerous Mimosa's, we decided to move Cami's zillion dollar couch out onto the balcony! It looks AWESOME! Way more comfortable for cocktails!

Then we decided that I needed a couch on my balcony too! So we went to cracktown and visited Goodwill to get a couch, then go online to find a slip cover to hide the fact that I purchased a couch at Goodwill. Well, we found a decent one for $66! 2 pieces actually so it would have been sweet! Cami said BUY IT NOW! I said, this thing isn't going anywhere, let's check the nasty furniture store next door! We'll be back in 10 mintues we told the guy. Next door joint didn't have anything we liked, but we noticed a fun fake hair store next to it. So we went in and bought some funny wigs to entertain our children with.

So back over to the Goodwill - after we found out the other place would deliver it RIGHT NOW - to purchase the $66 couch. LOW AND BEHOLD - SOMEONE BOUGHT THE COUCH IN THE 30 MINUTES WE WERE GONE! Who knew Goodwill furniture ACTUALLY sold, much less someone wanting the same thing I wanted in the same 30 minutes. So I was jipped out of a sweet cheap couch for the balcony, but I did get a funny wig!

UNCRUSTABLE DELIVERED!!!

Finally!

After almost a week of anticipation, the 4 day trip from West Palm Beach Florida, the Smuckers Uncrustable made it to LA at 4pm Tami time on Thursday! The package looks intact!

It looks the same as when I sent it on Monday! Almost Edible!

Tami sadly stated that upon further inspection, it seemed to be extremely smashed and appeared to have no jelly. WHERE DID THE JELLY GO? Did it leak out over Texas? New Mexico?

Due to the Uncrustable needing refridgeration, Tami wisely close to send it to a junk yard dog for his lunch today.

WHO WANTS TO BE THE NEXT TO GET SOMETHING WEIRD IN THE MAIL?? This is all for science people.....

I missed the Gold Boat.....

I took in a bunch of old gold jewelry to a store today to sell. I was dumb enough to think I would be walking out of there with like $800! Sadly, the grand total wasn't even enough for a trip to Publix. I ended up selling nothing and leaving with all the jewelry I don't wear back in it's little black velvet bag. The guy said I missed the gold boat by about a month and a half. So if you're thinking about selling, might want to hold on to your stuff til the prices go back up.

Speedy Delivery! Speedy Delivery!

Remember Mr. McFeely from Mr. Rogers? I loved him...he never delivered bills. Always fun stuff for Mr. Rogers! But I bet he never delivered an Uncrustable! As you read on Monday, Tami and I are conducting an experiment (of 2nd grade caliber) by sending a sandwich from the East Coast allllll the way to the West Coast. So I sit here waiting for Tami to get her mail at 4pm LA time.....waiting waiting waiting.

I love getting the mail! I do all my bills online, so I never get bills in the mailbox. I get People Magazine, rubber checks, Ballards catalogs, Ranger Rick for Hunter AND I'm expecting a new vacuum cleaner any day now. I ordered that on Monday too. I have been borrowing my friend Cami's vacuum cleaner - she lives on the 11th floor, I'm on the 16th, so the thing has been taking numerous elevator trips! I usually ruin vacuums because of my long hair jacking the thing up. Cami's is a heavy duty one, so I decided to buy myself a heavy duty one of my own.

Nope....still no mail for Tami....check back to see if it comes tomorrow!!!

Experiment

Tami came up with this most marvelous idea about 2 weeks ago.....let's send a peanut butter and jelly sandwich from coast to coast and see how it does! GREAT IDEA! We were going to do it last Monday, but I forgot to go to the grocery store, and Hunter needed something to eat for lunch that day....So finally today, I put 2 Smuckers Uncrustables (peanut butter and GRAPE jelly) in my purse - 1 to eat, and the other to send to Los Angeles.

We will keep you informed on the travel status of said Sandwich which according to Tami's calculations will be traveling 2,674 miles. Google Maps says if I drove it to her, it would take 1 day and 15 hours. Seeing that I have to work, I decided to let the post office do the delivery!

STAY TUNED! I KNOW YOU WANT TO!

Over the years....

...I've had some pretty interesting jobs. As I sit here in the studio today drinking my Dunkin Donuts (which beat Starbucks - even though I don't know how...they don't have all the cool drink names like Starbucks does....) coffee, I was thinking of my long list of jobs. Let's reminisce:

These are from the high school days:

St. George Sales - family business...I answered the phones.

McDonald's - yep, did the kids parties too! Nothing like a bunch of kids making that annoying sound with their straws in the cups. The cakes were actually good though!

Shakey's Pizza - worked there with my cousins and we did bad things to the pizza.... HAHAHAHAAH!

Summerfest Security - yep, I was tough enough to do Security at concerts in Milwaukee and to tell drunk people to GET OFF THE PLAYGROUND SIR....SIRRRRR....GET OFF THE SLIDE!!!!

I always wanted to work at The Kiltie, but never did. The Kiltie was the drive in custard place in Oconomowoc. I had numerous crushes back there in the kitchen part. Dave, Michael, etc etc. All the cool kids worked there. I never even applied. I didn't want to get shut down! I would have been crushed! hahah!

I don't recall working in college...I actually don't recall going to classes either........hmmmm.

Oh wait, I worked at Pizza Hut! I would have my roommates call in with orders right before close for pick up...then when "the person" didn't come pick it up, I would get to take it home! HAHAHAAH! I still LOVE Pizza Hut!

So after college didn't quite work out, I went to Television/Radio Broadcasting School in Minneapolis and worked at McGlynn's Bakery. YUM YUM YUM!

Ok, so now comes the Radio jobs with Misc mixed in when I quit the biz for a while:

WBIZ - Eau Claire, WI
Casa Rebecca - THE BEST MEXICAN RESTAURANT EVER!!!! And my favorite job to date. I was the Hostess with the Mostest and loved it!
WOFM - Wausau, WI
Z104 - Madison, WI
WKTI - Milwaukee, WI
Elizabeth Arden Cosmetics - Mayfair Mall, Tosa, WI
WKTI Again - Milwaukee, WI
WAZY - Lafayette, IN
STAR 94 - Atlanta, GA
The Morning Mouth - AWESOME radio magazine!
Q100 - Atlanta, GA
CNN - Atlanta, GA - I did entertainment stuff with Anderson Cooper and Carol Costello
WRMF - West Palm Beach, FL

Somewhere in there I also sold FAKE perfume out of a cardboard box to businesses....can you believe that?! I did it for ONE day....went to a blind ad from the newspaper and was MORITIFIED to find out what I had to do! How humiliating and LAME!

I believe that is all I have done in my working career.

The F Word

It's ..........FRIDAY!

I slept horribly last night. Marriott pillows are not all that comfortable. Needed Hunter's help as I changed lanes on the drive to school. My neck and back were in terrible pain and I couldn't even turn my head!

I was cut in half at a magic show last night, so maybe that had something to do with it. Who knows....magic, I don't get it.
**Hunter was freaked out...I don't think he was too fond of me being cut in half**

However, a Simplicity Massage at The Breakers in Cabana 19 with the ocean breeze cured me! FABULOUS!

Thank you Nature!

BAD MOOD

I'm broke.

How can I be broke if I'm on salary and have been getting the same amount in every check?

I can't go to our station Halloween party because I can't afford to get an extra sitter - I already have one 5 days a week...can't afford 6.
I don't know if I will be able to afford plane tix to go home for Christmas.
I don't know if I will be able to continue living where I live.
I don't know if I can even keep the car I'm driving.

One thing I do know, even broke I look fabulous.

Carry on with your day, I'm sure it's better than mine.

Mission: FISH.....Accomplished!

Yes, I am happy to say I have Silver 3 in the tank and he is swimming around swimmingly! He and Mr. Eelers appear to be getting along very nicely. We'll see if they are both alive when I come home from work tonight.

Hunter didn't notice at all that Silver 2 was missing last night. This morning at breakfast I thought I was gonna get busted, but he didn't notice then either! PHEW!

I hightailed it over to PetSmart today and they didn't seem to find it odd that I was replacing a fish to cover up the death of another. Apparently parents all over town, the state and the country are doing this too. I felt better about my deception at the realization of that fact.

I forgot to tell you about 3 other fish I killed a long time ago. I was cleaning the tank over my Grandma's kitchen sink - 1 fell out...turned on the disposal.....water was too cold when I put the remaining 2 back in...shock immediatley killed #2 (he curled up like the letter "c") , then there was only #3 left in the tank. He swam sideways for a few days, then floated gracefully to the top. Whoops.

Maybe I'm not a pet person.

.Comments:

TAMI - Dude, I had no idea the trail of fish death you have left behind....Do you watch Finding Nemo and feel guilty? You need the Fish Whisperer. I think his number is on the back of the Gordon Fisherman's box. When H Pizzle starts reading the blogs you are so screwed. I am concerned....what happened to the cat Tracy?

***For the record, Sweetie Cat ran away, Tiki the Cat was NUTS and we gave him to the cleaning lady***

JANUARY: when are you ever going to tell him the truth??
JANUARY: Silver can't live forever!!!
TRACY: Silver will go to college with Hunter
JANUARY: and you'll have to sneak in his dorm room and replace him every few months

KT - get him something that doesn't die, like a puppy!!!! Those are harder to kill. Or a pet sibling like Angelina. You can pick one up in Thailand or Africa!

TAMI - Maybe you should start slow..buy him a picture of a puppy...then a stuffed puppy

ADI - how did he not notice a missing shark last night?

Tuesday, October 21, 2008

I killed AGAIN....

Sadly, Hunter's fish Silver died.....again. See this is actually Silver 2. Silver 1 died when H was up in Wisconsin for his summer vacation. I fed the thing all the time and it still died. We fed this guy all the time and he died. Now don't say - maybe you fed him too much. It was a little shark and it said to feed it every 3 days. That is exactly what we did. The problem I THINK may have been when we went on the nightmare camping trip, I put one of those 3 day feeder pyramids in the tank and I don't think it dissolved correctly to disperse the food.

So before Hunter came back from WI, I bought a Silver look alike and he was none the wiser and didn't have to deal with the heart ache of a dead fish.

The last fish I killed - yes, I have a talent at this - was Neal. I changed the water one day and Hunter came home from school.....Neal was floating. I think the water change was a shock and he croaked. Neal, to this day, resides in my freezer. He was in the freezer at our old place and had to be moved to our new residence.

I consulted God on what to do with this one. Do I tell H that he died, or do I blame in on the eel in the tank. We thought it best to flush Silver 2 and blame it on the eel.

I am crossing my fingers that he doesn't notice tonight so I can make a trip to the store tomorrow morning to buy Silver 3....poor guy...he doesn't know he's going to death row.

Comments:

TAMI - maybe it is time to say if you love neal so much lets stuff him and you can sleep with him, but he is creeping the hell out of the fish stick...neal has to go.

Can you believe that?!?

I HAVE NOTHING TO SAY TODAY!!! What is up with that?

I guess I'll tell you about what I'm wearing. It's my 3rd outfit of the day.

1st outfit - Puma track suit to drop Hunter off at school. I don't get out of the car, but have to at least change out of my pajamas.

2nd outfit - I was so excited it felt like fall this morning! So I put on some jeans, tucked them into some sweet high heeled black boots and put on a black long sleeved top with a deep V in the back. Then after wearing it for a few hours, realized I was hot and it wasn't that cool outside

3rd outfit - same jeans, gold high heeled sandal things and a sweet goldish type top that matches perfectly with my purse. Yep, this outfit change also required a purse change. So I switched from the purple Prada to the goldish Versace. FABULOUS!

It was then I truely knew I was ready to sit in a room where no one sees me.

Camping

The WORST thing that could happen to a single parent happened to me the other day. I woke up feeling AWFUL the day before a HUGE event in a kids life - 1st Cub Scout Campout of the year! I was mortified I was going to let my son down by being sick and us not being able to go. We were planning on going on Friday night after I got off the air, but I didn't even feel well enough to go to work, much less able to drive a vehicle the way I felt. So between in and out of consiousness, I told Hunter that we would be able to meet up with the scouts around lunch time on Saturday **crossing my fingers and praying that I would feel better in the morning**.

Well, I woke up Saturday not feeling like Death's older brother and felt a little better. We loaded the car with our gear (and loads of Vitamin C and tissues and saltines) and headed up to meet the rest of his buddies and families. We got there just in time for Hunter to shoot bb guns, do archery and play flag football. I laid in the tent on the air mattress which I swear was leaking air by the minute. Few things I could have done without on the trip:

1 - An encounter with a scout wielding his pocket knife like a real weapon - in the state I was in I didn't feel like playing along, so I told on him. Yeah, he was like 8 or 9, but if you don't teach them playing with knives is BAD, someone was going to lose an eye over the weekend or sometime soon in a neighborhood near you.

2 - Fort Wars between the Tigers, Wolves, Bears and Webelo's. For some reason, I thought the scouts was a brotherhood of sorts. Well not when territories are being threatened by other dens. So there was stealing of walking sticks, sticks being used as swords and weapons etc etc etc. Yes, boys will be boys, but jeez louise, they were like wild banshees.

3 - The showers. I guess boys just don't need a nice place to get clean. I didn't want to shower, but due to the fever and 90 degree heat, I was sweating like a pig and really needed to cool off. I shared my shower with a tree frog. Yes, a frog was clinging to the wall right above the shower head. It was the fastest shower in THE WORLD. Seriously, I would have won the Gold if it were an Olympic event.

I am now home and happy to say took a loooong shower. I have never felt so clean. Hunter is out skateboarding with his pals that live here. I don't know how he has any energy left at all!

Overall, I'm going to have to say this weekend was fun though. Even though I was not feeling that great, any weekend spent with my son is the very best!

Food Shopping is Puzzling

I hate grocery shopping. To me a grocery store is just a HUUUUGE room of ingredients that I have no clue what to do with. And I always end up coming home with snacks and soda even when I do have a list. But since I have cut out soda, coffee and snacks from my diet, this should be an easier event than usual. I just won't go up those aisles. Why did I cut out soda, coffee and snacks? I don't know. I miss you Dr. Pepper.....I long for your cheesy taste Nacho Cheesier Doritos.....ohhh Starbucks....if I could only come in just ONCE more.......

GROCERY LIST

Raspberries

Blueberries

Bananas

Bag of cut up apples

Hot dog

Hot dog buns

Lemon water
Raspberry water

Pizza...numerous kinds

Marie Calendar frozen dinner things

Attune Probiotic Wellness Bars - Chocolate Crisp

Doritos - just for camping trip...if I'm going to be in the wilderness I might as well enjoy it

Oreos - again, just for the cub scout camping trip.....won't eat after Sunday

Starbucks bottled Frappacino's - I'M IN THE FREAKIN WOODS....come on!

Publix cake cookies - they're HALLOWEEN THEMED! won't eat after the 31st
Sunchips - they are better for me than Doritos...practically a health food

OK, are you noticing how I really don't have FOOD on here? I honestly don't know how to grocery shop. I am stuck. What else do people buy at the store? I am more of a go-out-to-eat person. They always cook it correctly, they supply me with the right amount of vegetables. I try to buy vegetables. Always have the intention to eat them. But I put them in the drawer in the fridge and the next time I see them they are being thrown away. Can't shopping be as easy as riding your bike with a loaf of bread sticking out of the bag?

Ya know what I need? An Alice. I need someone to come and make me food. I actually tried to do one of those food programs where they make homemade food for you, they freeze it, and you just take them out one by one and warm them up in the microwave....nope, couldn't stick to that either. Even that was too bothersome for me.

The last time I ate healthy on a normal/daily basis - High School when I was still living with my parents and brother.
